Christine Korimbocus

Associate

Christine is experienced in corporate, banking and financing transactions. Her experience has been acquired through the drafting of legal documentation, reviewing foreign law documents; issuing legal advice on corporate matters and carrying out legal due diligence on companies incorporated in Mauritius.

As one of her assignments, Christine worked on the World Bank’s questionnaire relating to corporate governance laws in Mauritius, for the purpose of drafting the ROSC. In addition, she was delegated to work on the IFC's checklists in respect of the creation, perfection and enforcement of security rights over various types of assets, equity investments, and the rights and duties of directors in Mauritius.

Christine has also advised on major transactions such as counselling an Indian Company in the acquisition of a MUR 40 million shares in an independent fund & portfolio Manager Company in Mauritius. She has also advised on the security documentation relating to a USD 300 Million facility and advising a branch of the Deutsche Bank Group on a USD 115 Million Facility Agreement.

Christine was also involved in the amalgamation of two important sugar industry listed companies on the Development & Enterprise Market and the listing of the surviving entity on the Official Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius.

Lately, Christine teamed up in assisting a renowned international company in the acquisition of a resort in Mauritius. The acquisition was effected through a purchase of shares of the company operating the hotel.

  • Advisor Urban Cooling Ltd in respect of the Deep Ocean Water Applications (DOWA) project to be implemented in Mauritius. Assisted in negotiating the concession agreement with the Government of Mauritius.
