Shabneez Khan Chady
Legal ExecutiveShabneez Khan Chady is a barrister at BLC Chambers and is mainly involved in corporate, banking and financing transactions. Since she has joined the firm in 2014, she has been involved in drafting of legal documents, issuing of legal opinions, reviewing of foreign law governed documents and has undertaken a number of due diligence exercises on entities incorporated under the laws of Mauritius.
Shabneez regularly assists on the review of facility agreements and security documents. She has worked on major transactions such as advising international banks with respect to a USD 460,000,000 term facility agreement and providing legal assistance in relation to wind and solar financing projects. She has also contributed on questionnaires from the World Bank.
Shabneez is engaged in pro bono works. She has advised a renowned pharmaceutical company on the taxation regime in Mauritius and has further contributed to the drafting of agreements for use of the pharmaceutical company’s intellectual property rights by a Mauritian entity. Shabneez was admitted to the Bar of Mauritius in September 2014. She read law at the University of Liverpool and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in 2013.

- Advising Chinese Lenders in relation to the provision of a term facility in the amount of USD 26,000,000 to a Mauritian borrower .
- Assistance in relation to the financing of the acquisition of shares in a Mauritian listed company
